Passage lll

white paper porcelain, alcohol ink —  2025

Passage III continues the artist’s investigation into how libido is shaped, constrained, and displayed under cultural pressure. Formed from white paper porcelain and stained with alcohol ink, the surface is left unglazed—dry, porous, and raw. The palette ranges from deep violet to warm copper and oxidized silver, creating a charred yet luminous effect across the folds and ridges of the central form. Textural details—pores, slashes, and fossil-like impressions—evoke a blend of the anatomical and the technological, as though the flesh of the body has been repurposed into a circuit or relic. The form is explicitly erotic, yet hardened into something archival, as if the libido itself has been pressed into permanence. The outer shape reads as protective and enclosing, while the inner core splits vertically, marked by a distinct symmetry that suggests a passageway or interface. This piece, like others in the Passages series, is a site of witnessing—a frozen artifact of internal tension, where desire becomes sculptural and the body becomes memory.4o
